Recently, the food safety storms have been continuing. For a long period of time, people's worship of money has resulted in distorted personality and alienated soul, which makes people disregard human life in their desperate pursuit for maximum interests. Such incidents like melamine in milk powder, the random additive or pigment in food, water-injected meat and mushroom, Sudan Red in KFC are continuing around China and have become a serious problem.
　　At present, the problems of China's food safety are as follows: using inferior materials during manufacturing process, excessive use of food additives, hormones and other harmful substances remaining on the agricultural products and poultry products. In addition, we are faced with the potential threat of genetically modified food. Though there is not enough evidence to prove that the genetically modified food is harmful to human beings, but genetically modified food safety problem has aroused people's close attention.
　　Food safety is a major issue related with people' s life security, economic development, national security and social stability. So we should pay more attention to it. To completely ensure food safety,we should first adovcate the development of health green food and teach farmers how to prevent pesticide residues, thus eliminating the root of generating harmful food. Secondly, the punishment for the illegal traders should be more serious, thus increasing the cost of their crimes and make them think twice before doing desperate moves.
