Argentine President Cristina Fernandez rejected Thursday charges by the United States that she used money seized from a foreigner as campaign fund.

"This president may be a woman but she is not going to let anyone pressure her," Fernandez said during a public appearance at the White Hall, the federal government headquarters at Casa Rosada.

A report in a judicial hearing in Miami, Florida, said that 790,000 U.S. dollars seized from a Venezuelan in Buenos Aires were used for her presidential campaign.

It has been part of "garbage dumps" the United States needed in carrying out its international policies, she said, adding that those in Washington will never get the result they want.

Fernandez said she will continue "strengthening relations with all the Latin American countries and with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela."

Cristina Fernandez, wife of former Argentine president Nestor Kirchner, won a landslide presidential election in October to become Argentina's first female president.
