American Beauty star Mena Suvari has 'done a Britney' and inexplicably shaved off all her hair.

The American actress was photographed in Beverly Hills last Thursday sporting a closely cropped hair-do.

Upon spotting the photographer, Suvari pulled the hood up on her jersey and walked off.

Britney Spears shaved her hair off during an infamous incident in a Los Angeles hair salon several months ago.

Suvari, 28, has not given a reason for shaving off her hair. It is not known if it is for a film role.

Her most famous role is 1999's American Beauty, in which she starred alongside Kevin Spacey and Annette Bening.

She also starred in American Pie, and is currently on screen in the films Brooklyn Rules and Stuck.

Other famous stars who have shaved their head include Sigourney Weaver, Demi Moore and Sinead O'Connor.
