White House: Bush fit for duty
WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush is "fit for duty" as doctors have determined he remains "in superior fitness," the White House said Wednesday.
"Doctors have determined that the president remains in superior fitness for a man his age -- anybody who's seen him on the bike or out and about certainly knows that -- and that he is fit for duty," White House spokesman Tony Snow said.
Snow made the remarks at a time when the White House released the complete results of Bush's annual physical exam.
Bush, 61, was treated last August for Lyme disease, which was shown in the "past medical history" section.
According to the physical checkup, Bush weighed 192 pounds (about 87 kg), was five feet and 11.5 inches (about 1.8 m) tall, and was healthy overall.
Last month, Bush underwent a colonoscopy at the presidential retreat of Camp David, Maryland, and doctors removed five polyps from him during the routine colon exam.
